The roof is still leaking, and the landlord calls yesterday evening just to insult my wife and get her upset. So I called her back and asked when the roof is getting fixed?
She replied, “I had six roofing companies look at it, and none of them got back to me with a price. They want me to pay $4,000 for a rubber roof, I’m not paying that. Maybe the job is too small, and the price of materials.”
This is how it is, she told us she just put a new roof on a year before we moved in, and she wasn’t paying for a new roof. Slumlord that’s what she is! I guarantee you if she was forced to live here it would get fixed, along with all the other issues not mentioned in this post.

Today we now have leaks in front of the stove and sink. We also have two spots on our living room ceiling and one of them just started dripping. I had to call the landlord to keep her informed about the new leaks. The landlord is getting a new roof so she says. She waiting for the estimate from the company who looked at the roof on Monday.
Now we just wait for the ceiling to fall either in the kitchen or living room.
This sad.

Is this ever going to get fixed? We just got back from visiting my brother-in-law who is in Hospice. I walked into the kitchen and stepped in a puddle of water.
I turned the light on and discovered our kitchen table, half the kitchen floor, and the bathroom floor was soaking wet. So I called the landlord to tell her about it.
Once again it’s that same old song and dance of he said, she said. It must be nice to take an honest person’s money and treat them like trash while you are sitting in a nice dry home.

The repair that they did, did not work. This past Friday’s storm we had water leaking in the center of the kitchen, that’s a new spot. Fml

We just got home from the rheumatoid arthritis doctor and it started to pour down rain. OMG! the roof repair that was done on the 27th did not fix the problem. The roof is still leaking.

The maintenance man has done some work on the soffit and fascia on Saturday 24, 2021. Now we wait for it to rain, in hopes it does not leak anymore.

Made another call to the landlord this morning about the leak yesterday evening to find out if it’s going to get worked on today. I got the answering machine.
I believe the trouble between us and the landlord started when I called her the very first time in 2020. This was about the door to enter the apartment needed replaced because someone had previously kicked the door in. We were told by one person that the daughter of the landlord lived here and that her boyfriend kicked the door in, then we heard that it was a home invasion, some people kicked the door in and beat-up the daughter and boyfriend. All over drugs. It’s been down hill ever since.

We had a small leak when it rained yesterday, I called the landlord today and ask if she knew when the new maintenance man was working on the roof today because it was still leaking? I don’t know she replied. Go ask the guy upstairs that’s who is supposed to repair it. Okay Thanks, I said. Oh and I told her about the floor feeling damp. I got no reply. No reply from the maintenance man either when I knocked on his door.
Never again will we sign a month-to-month lease for an apartment. What it all boils down to when you sign a lease of this type is, YOU have very little to no rights.
The owner of the property said she was a Christian woman when we met her.
Way back in April or May of 2020, The ceiling started to leak when it rained. I called and told her about it. She said I don’t see how I just put that roof on last year. A couple of days later, a wanna-be maintenance man shows up and says he worked on that part of the roof to repair the leak.
oKay cool. So, We thought.
July 12, 2020, it started leaking again. Another call to the property owner.
August 29, 2020, it started leaking again. Another call to the property owner. This is when I started recording the leaking roof after many failed attempts to repair it.
Now there were times it rained we were not home to catch the water.
In April or May of 2021, A new maintenance man showed up to repair the leak. This time he did more work than the last maintenance man. He at least fixed the hole that’s shown in the image above. It wasn’t long until he quit.
Here we are again!
June 20, 2021, it started leaking again. Another call to the property owner. She said another maintenance man is going to take a look at it. Okay good. He works during the week and can only work on it on the weekends.
I think it was the first weekend of July. He put a new roof on our neighbors back porch.

We are not going to be held responsible for the walls, the kitchen floor, or any other damage that you will not take care of. . I have called and called time and time again. It is you Mrs. Landlord who neglects your property and your tenants.
Now, wait a minute!
We have a leak that pours water into our kitchen!
The kitchen floor has that fake-looking wood made of what looks like pressed cardboard. Yes the fake floor is damp, this first image shows what it looks like when it’s dry and the following image shows the damp section of flooring in the kitchen.
The floor now feels damp when you walk across it. The wall warped from the leak that started last year.
Everything we had to get repaired had the same excuse. I just fixed it last year, I just replaced that last year, That was new last year. We were, told nobody lived here for at least a year or two.
What did we do that pissed this self-proclaimed Christian woman off that she would treat us like this? All we asked of her was to repair all the broken things left from her past tenant her daughter. She asked us to call her when the tenant who was hired to cut the grass Does Not Cut It. When I call to let her know, She says,” every week it’s something with you people.” then hangs up on me.
Moving or put up with the slum lord is our only 2 options, and Right now, moving is not an option. We can not afford to move.
